Westclox Vintage Clocks
Westclox clocks have a pretty rocky background as far as their manufacture is concerned. The company that is currently known as Westclox first started business as the United Clock Company in Illinois back in 1885. After several bankruptcies and company reorganizations and various name changes, the Western Clock Company merged with Seth Thomas in 1930 and in 1936 it was the Westclox Division of General Time Co. General Time was acquired by Talley in the sixties, but after a management buy-out in the 80s, General Time went bankrupt and the trademarks Westclox and Big Ben were sold to the Salton company.
The Westclox trademark has been in use on their clocks since 1909, but wasn't registered until 1616.
